I N A C T I V I T Y:
In 2016 a study by researchers for the WHO (world health organisation) found that around a quarter of the world weren’t doing enough physical activity to reduce their risks of heart disease, diabetes and some forms of cancer. Despite various public health campaigns this figure has not improved since it was looked at back in 2001
High income countries had far worse activity levels as they tended to work longer hours in more sedentary jobs plus automation and technology only allow us to do even less activity than before.
.
I was asked to speak about my thoughts on this on the BBC World News. Whilst I don’t have all the answers I am on the receiving end of many peoples reasons for avoiding activity.
