Author's Note

Every time I hear or sing this hymn, and ponder on the archaic lyrics, those Ancient Greek text translated into English, I am totally awestruck by the imageries to comes to my mind. The Whole Universe ... Marvelling at the work of our God .. worshipping Him in Nothing but Silent dumbfounded amazement. To the greatness of WHO /WHAT our God is, and what he has done. Coming to Earth.. born to human flesh.. Giving his Flesh to us .. and the Hierarchy of heavens .. unable to comprehend the wisdom and goodness of God .. and our response .. nothing we say or do can befit our Maker .. nothing but just Alleluia .... unceasingly . I too am lost for words.. only Silent Adoration

A Big Thank you to Marcus the conductor for choosing this hymn for the season of Advent. It may not be the most popular hymn for Advent, but spiritually and theologically, it dwarves many of modern composition we have (nothing against them I swear) There's really something "magical" about these words and tune, that transports us to a time, a place, an atmosphere , that is NOT close, but closer to what an experience of the ultimate may be, perhaps a glimpse of what Moses felt when he encountered the burning bush.
